• Why HIFU gel Is being used?

  Ultrasound transmit energy through the medium of moisture without which energy cannot penetrate into the skin properly.

• Is ULTRASKIN treatment uncomfortable?

  Comfort threshold varies from one person to another. One would feel warm and tinging sensation during the treatment. This is normal. Always indicate your comfort level to your HIFU specialist if you feel extreme discomfort, the energy level can be adjusted accordingly. Having said that, this will affect the outcome and may vary the desired results of the treatment.

• Will I feel the ultrasound during the treatment?

  Yes. What you are feeling during the treatment is actually tiny amounts of focused ultrasound energy being deposited below the skin surface.

• What does it feel like?

  Some customers noted that there can be some discomfort while the ultrasound energy is being delivered, but it is temporary and this is a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated.

• What is the duration of the treatment?

  Depending on which treatment, it would be between 15 – 60 minutes

• What is the energy penetration depth of different cartridges?

  4.5mm targets at SMAS layer (Superficial muscular aponeurotic system, SMAS is an area of musculature of the face)

  3.0mm targets at dermis layer (the layer of the skin between the epidermis and subcutaneous layer. It is the thickest layer of the skin)

  1.5mm targets at thin layer of skin like eye or forehead area

• Is there any downtime?

  ULTRASKIN is an entirely non-invasive treatment, therefore there is no downtime. You are able to return to your normal daily activities right away.

• How long do the results last?

  Theoretically, the effect will last for approximately a year (depending on which level of energy). Skin ages over time as well. So, it is recommended to get the treatment done every 2-3 months (based on your HIFU specialist’s recommendation)

• When can one expect to see results?

  Results is visible right after the treatment. After 2-3 weeks, the results is amplified; becomes more significant with the development of collagen, elastic fiber. After 2 months, the effectiveness would be maximized, lasting at least for the following 6 months.

• Will I need more than 1 treatment?

  The majority of customers only need 1 treatment, however some may benefit from more than 1 treatment depending on how much laxity they have and their bodies’ own biological response to the ultrasound and the collagen-building process.

  At least 1 month interval is required if the customer wishes to have another session for better effectiveness.

• Can I do ULTRASKIN treatment after botox or thread lifting?

  Within 4 – 6 months of botox or thread lifting, HIFU treatment should not be done. If customer wishes to do both botox/ thread lifting and HIFU, HIFU treatment should come first.

• What does collagen do?

  Collagen is a natural protein that gives skin its youthfulness by keeping it firm, toned and full of elasticity. As we age, collagen loses its elasticity and its ability to withstand gravity that pulls the skin downwards.

• How does ULTRASKIN stimulate the creation of collagen?

  ULTRASKIN starts a repair process that produces fresh and new collagen with the skin

• Can ULTRASKIN replace a face lift?

  While it is not a a replacement for surgery, it is a viable option for those who are not ready for a face lift by cosmetic surgery. HIFU is the only non-invasive technology that can target the SMAS layer.

• Who is a good candidate for ULTRASKIN?

  Someone with skin that has “relaxed” to the point of looking and often feeling less firm. A lowered eyebrow line or sagging skin on the eyelids – is often the first sign of “maturing” skin. Typically, those in their 30s and older, who have mild to moderate skin laxity.

  Those who want some lifting effect, but not ready for face lift surgery (either mentally, financially or emotionally), younger generation who want to “stay ahead of the game” and those who are looking at prolonging the effects of cosmetic surgery.

• How long until I see results?

  Customer may enjoy immediate results with some initial effect but the ultimate lifting and toning will take place over 2 – 3 months as tired collagen is replaced with new, more elastic collagen. As this collagen-building process continues, further improvement can appear up to 6 – 12 months following a treatment.
